EDY LEGACY SHORT SLEEVE RASH GUARD. No Gi Fight Rashguard.

The design uses symbolism to tell the story of Edy’s journey. He was a jiu jitsu black belt, great story teller, creator of the Combaté Movement in Chiriquí, and a good friend to many. 

We grieve his loss but by knowing his way of life we know that he is eternal and one with the universe. 

Thank you Edy for your life, friendship, and for the memories we will always treasure. This rash guard design is in honor of his memory for those that knew him and his legacy.

‘Bodhisattva” written across the top of the right shoulder emphasizes the resolution Edy made in life to follow the path of the spiritually awakened seeking enlightenment.  

Bodhi” means “awake”, and “sattva” means “sentient”.

The Bodhisattva is one who respects the Buddha, learns the Buddhism Dharma, and is ready to help others, including dedicating one’s whole life to these ideals.

In order to become the Buddha, the Buddhist must go on the Bodhisattva path. And being the Buddha is the achievement of practicing the Bodhisattva. Hence, the prerequisite requirement for everybody who looks forward to being the Buddha is to cultivate the Bodhisattva path. 

First of all, they must benefit self and benefit others, leading to Buddhahood.

Second, they must seek Bodhi who is above themselves and transforms all beings (sattva).

Third, they commit to the absence of sorrow and the fostering of joy for all humanity. 

Finally, they vow to learn the Buddhism Dharma and determine to attain the greatest achievement of cultivating Bodhisattva — becoming the Buddha. 

The Eyes of Buddha on the chest further represent this ideal. 

The 4 virtues located on the bottom left hip represent the 4 divine abodes; loving kindness, compassion, emphatic joy, and equanimity.
